Finding a Story's Authentic Voice: My Work as Dialogue & Dialect Coach on The Agency
The human way you tell your story, does make all the difference.
I believe every story has a unique voice and my role is to help ensure that voice feels authentic.
As Dialogue & Dialect Coach, I work at the intersection of language, performance, and storytelling: collaborating with script coordinators/supervisors, writers, actors, directors, and producers to create dialogue that feels truthful, culturally grounded, and emotionally honest.
Working on THE AGENCY for a second season is especially meaningful because it unfolded across two languages: Persian and Castilian Spanish which calls for a deep understanding of how language shapes identity, relationships, and character. Every rehearsal, script discussion, and coaching session focused on helping actors move naturally between languages while preserving the emotional truth of every scene.
The work of a language coach is often invisible to the audience, which is the goal, so that audiences are fully immersed in a performance instead of thinking about pronunciation, rhythm, or dialogue.
Whether coaching an actor through a new dialect, refining multilingual dialogue, supporting script authenticity, or preparing performances for television and film, my priority is always the same: to serve the story and to honor the comfort level of each actor when approaching a second or third language.
Being on set (or on stage in theatre) has always felt like home and this experience is no exception. It’s been collaborative, meticulous, and deeply rewarding on a wide range of levels. I'm grateful to the cast, creative team, and production for trusting me with such an important part of the storytelling process.
As the film and television industry continues to embrace multilingual storytelling and globally connected audiences, authentic language has never been more important. I'm proud to contribute to productions where dialogue doesn't simply sound correct, but it feels lived, believable, and true.
If you're developing a television series, feature film, or international production that values authentic performance, dialogue, and language, I'd love to be part of helping your story find its voice.
